KAWASAKI TRIPLE PARTS KH250 KH400 KH S1 S2 S3 USED PATTERN & REFURBISHED PARTS,SPARES & BIKES BOUGHT & SOLD

This is my first ever restoration and is the cause of my Kawasaki Triple addiction.
In February 2003 i visited Donnington Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Show, one of the first bikes i saw as i walked round the show was a KH250 B2, just like i had when i was 17.A decision was made there and then i had to have one.

That week i trawled the internet and managed to find a bike in Kidderminster. The bike had been stood in a garden for nearly 10 years. It was rather tatty and a strange colour. The frame and engine numbers seemed ok for the year.It had no rear mudguard or grabrail and was in a sorry state. But i was seeing it through rose tinted glasses and had to have it.Let the restoration commence.

I Started the project with the aim of getting the bike back to a reasonable standard with a view to riding it on sunny Sunday afternoons. My first task was to see if i could get it started!(i am no mechanic)I had been given all sorts of tales of crankshaft oil seals being goosed, faulty electrics, dirty carbs etc etc.I thought the best thing to do would be to clean out the carbs put in fresh petrol fit a battery and give it a go.The carbs were unbelievable each one had a large lump of white powdery crap in it.Once cleaned and battery fitted i turned the key and "hey presto" neutral light and indicators worked but no headlight or tailight .After 7 kicks the engine burst into life. That was all i needed to know, within 4 hours the bike was stripped.

Now for the hard part finding the missing and damaged parts.Ebay was the obvious place to start.Trouble is i found it was a drug!! Highly addictive and expensive.I don't know how people went on before Ebay, rooting through piles of rusting scrap at autojumbles to find that 1 part does not appeal to me.As time went by i was finding most parts but was coming a bit obsessed with finding perfect parts and the idea of just getting the bike on the road was turning into a full blown rebuild with as many nos,re-chromed,re-painted parts i could get.

After more or less a year the bike was complete and i was proud of the example i had managed to produce. The only thing was i was frightened to ride it and decided i would use this bike as a show bike.I still wanted a triple to use for casual rides though but i had now realised how much it costs to restore a bike back to original and came to the conclusion the easiest and cheapest way to get another triple was to find a ready restored bike.I came across a restored 1975 S3A which was ideal not immaculate but very original, just what i wanted.I now had 2 triples in my garage.

I was still not happy!!While browsing Ebay one evening i came across a KH250 mono shock conversion with Dyson/FLF body kit.My finger accidently caught the mouse and some how i bought the bike!!This is my latest project the bike has a Yamaha LC swinging arm the Dyson/FLF kit has been ditched and i am trying to bring it back to original but with the mono shock conversion intact.
